Operations Division is On the Move
As we take in the news around the world of happenings in Cuba, the celebration of Bastille Day in France, and on a more personal note, a tradition my father and I shared for decades, our annual 100% total dedication to watching every single stage of The Tour de France. Today, the riders are in the Pyrenees, it is stage 17, and I can feel my father in spirit sitting here with me as I cheer on some of the greatest athletes on the planet. All while announcing a major positive growth and move forward for The Boat Company and our Operations Division.
With that out of the way, I would also like to announce that The Boat Company Operations Division has made the strategic decision, effective immediately for the boats, and effective end of August for all other operations, TBC new home port of call will be Reedsport, OR.
Currently, the MIST COVE is in Reedsport receiving her new heartbeat, gears and running systems. She is out of the water with a giant hole in her side at an exceptional family owned and operated shipyard, Fred Wahl Marine Construction. We are thrilled to join the maritime community of Reedsport, and Fred Wahl, taking up residence at the site of the Marine Construction company’s former facilities, as they relocated 400 yards up the river to a beautiful open facility with an enormous travel boat lift, easily capable of lifting either of TBC’s vessels out of the water on short notice for any yard work that may be needed.
The LISERON is also already in Reedsport acting as a temporary housing for our crew working on the boats, as well as taking up her new residence dockside. We are excited and eager to establish ourselves in the local community providing good full time and season job opportunities as we move our entire operations program south out of Seattle.
With 2022 reservations/occupation at over 90%, and 2023 creeping closer and closer to 50% weekly, you can rest assured knowing that these two vessels of ours will be raring to go soon.
Until our next update, stay safe, please consider getting vaccinated if you are eligible. It is the only way we are going to get ahead of this disease and get back on track.
